Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer - Solar PV Module to design, develop, and optimize solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in solar energy engineering, with a focus on the electrical aspects of PV systems, including design, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. The candidate should have a strong understanding of solar PV modules, electrical systems, and grid integration.Key Responsibilities:Design and Development: Create, design, and optimize electrical systems for solar PV modules (TOPCON, HJT, PERC, SMBB etc., for Solar Cell technologies), including system layouts, block-sizing and selection, weather monitoring system, wiring diagrams, and hybrid renewable energy key single-line diagrams (SLDs) up to 400kV.System Integration: Ensure the seamless integration of solar PV systems with existing electrical grids and other renewable energy sources (solar, BESS, and wind), adhering to regulatory standards and safety requirements.Technical Analysis: Conduct technical feasibility studies, energy yield analysis, and simulations for various PV configurations and orientations.Equipment Selection: Specify and select components, such as inverters, modules, inverter duty transformers, ICOG Panels with protections, single axis trackers, and wiring, to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.Installation Oversight: Supervise and support the installation, testing, and commissioning of solar PV systems to ensure compliance with design specifications.Performance Monitoring: Analyze system performance and troubleshoot issues to maintain high efficiency and reliability, including remote monitoring of PV system operations.Compliance and Standards: Ensure all designs and installations comply with local, national, and international codes and standards for solar PV systems.Documentation: Prepare detailed technical specifications (TS), material requisitions (MR), requests for quotation (RFQ), technical bid evaluations (TBE), technical clarifications (TQ/TC), commercial bid evaluations (CBD), tender/bid technical analysis (TBA/CBA), kick-off meeting (KOM), master document list (MDL), Design of Responsibilities (DoR), bid/tender value engineering and design, execution phase detailed design and engineering, vendor documents (VDL), and as-built drawings for project records and client handovers.Required Qualifications:Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.Experience: Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in solar PV systems engineering, with a strong background in electrical engineering.Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) license or certification in solar PV (such as NABCEP, if applicable) is a plus.Technical Skills:Proficiency with PV design software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope).Familiarity with electrical design software (e.g., ETAP, CDEGS, MATLAB, Autogrid Pro, etc.,).Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (BIS, NEC, IEC, IEEE, UL, etc.,).Familiarity with Microgrid SCADA systems and Hybrid renewable energy control systems (STATCOM, etc.,).Other Skills:Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and project management abilities.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with utility-scale solar PV projects.Knowledge of energy storage systems and hybrid RE (solar) setups.Familiarity with renewable energy incentives, policies, and regulatory frameworks.Physical Requirements:Ability to work on-site and in field environments. Prepare design basis report.Comfortable with outdoor grid connected hybrid solar utilities and fieldwork, as necessary
