Job Description

    Position Title: Engineer Technical - Business DevelopmentReports To: Manager Technical - Business DevelopmentDepartment: Technical Business DevelopmentLocation: Gurugram, IndiaKey Accountabilities1. Business / Technical Development
    • Conduct technical feasibility, initial costing (Capex & Opex), and concept design in coordination with design consultants and engineering teams.
    • Assist in the preparation of initial techno-commercial offers to clients, preliminary designs, and final scopes of work in collaboration with design consultants and engineering teams.
    • Perform lifecycle cost analysis for projects in coordination with OEMs and design consultants.
    • Attend client meetings and participate in technical discussions and negotiations to resolve arising issues.
    • Collaborate with internal projects, O&M teams, and business development teams.
    • Prepare project cost estimates for civil/architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and control systems.
    • Engage with OEMs and technical groups to integrate cost/energy-efficient technologies and innovations.
    • Conduct technical site due diligence with design consultants and technical teams for M&A projects, covering HVAC high-side and low-side assets.
    • Undertake environmental and social due diligence for greenfield and M&A projects in collaboration with external consultants.
    • Maintain ISO-compliant documentation procedures and ensure seamless uploading of technical/project documents to the server.
    Performance Indicators:
    • Timely completion of technical feasibility, costing, design, and scope of work (SoW).
    • Realistic and accurate cost estimations.
    • Effective adoption of innovative technologies.
    • Structured documentation and storage of project data.
    2. Design and Engineering
    • Develop detailed designs for HVAC projects with design consultants and engineering teams.
    • Review process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (PIDs), mechanical system drawings (MSDs), and data sheets prepared by consultants.
    • Develop and review technical specifications for equipment, EPC/EPCM packages, and client/consultant specifications.
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, clients, vendors, and PMCs on technical issues.
    • Assess vendor quotes, manage deviations, and raise technical queries (TQs).
    • Review vendor shop drawings and technical submittals with design consultants.
    • Implement lessons learned and standardize project documentation.
    • Travel as required to client offices, supplier works, and construction sites.
    3. Policies and Procedures
    • Adhere to departmental policies, standard operating procedures, and legal frameworks.
    • Ensure the organization complies with employment laws, discipline and grievance policies, and redundancy processes.
    4. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies to guarantee employee safety and legislative compliance.
    • Report safety incidents and near misses promptly.
    Job RequirementsA. Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical).
    • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) preferred but not mandatory.
    B. Minimum Experience
    • 46 years of proven experience in district cooling, chilled water HVAC plants, or wet utilities-related industries.
    • Strong knowledge of designing and executing district cooling/chilled water HVAC projects.
    • Experience in commissioning and O&M of chilled water HVAC plants is an added advantage.
    • Development experience in sectors involving large capital investments.
