Job Description

    A logistics operations job involves overseeing the end-to-end supply chain, including transportation, warehousing, inventory control, and distribution. Professionals in this role ensure the safe, timely, and cost-effective movement of goods from suppliers to final customers, optimizing fleet use and maintaining regulatory compliance.Core ResponsibilitiesA typical logistics operations job description is broken down into the following key areas:Transportation & Fleet Management: Plan shipping routes, coordinate inbound/outbound freight, and oversee vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption, and driver scheduling.Warehouse Operations: Supervise receiving, sorting, storage, and dispatching of goods. Ensure accurate handling and maintain a safe, clean facility.Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels across multiple locations, perform inventory reconciliations, and maintain tracking systems.Documentation & Compliance: Manage shipping documents, bills, invoices, and customs paperwork. Ensure all operations comply with local safety, legal, and environmental regulations.Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Liaise with transport providers, internal departments, and clients to resolve issues and guarantee seamless delivery.Performance Tracking: Prepare operational reports, track key performance indicators (KPIs) like turnaround time, and identify areas to reduce costs and boost efficiency.Key Requirements & QualificationsEducation: A Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or Business Administration.Experience: Typically 25 years in logistics, warehousing, or cargo consolidation, with proven experience in a supervisory or coordination role.Technical Skills: Proficiency in supply chain software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and data analysis tools.Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, team leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills, particularly under high-pressure environments
