This role involves using specialized testing techniques to identify flaws, cracks, and other defects that may affect the performance, safety, and reliability of the products. The technician ensures compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.Key Responsibilities:
    1. Non-Destructive Testing (NDT):
      • Perform various NDT methods including ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing (MT), dye penetrant testing (PT), radiographic testing (RT), eddy current testing (ET), and visual inspection (VT) as per required procedures and standards.
      • Conduct inspections on materials, welds, machinery, and structures to detect and evaluate defects.
      • Ensure that all testing procedures and reports comply with relevant codes, standards (e.g., ASTM, ASME, ISO), and company specifications.
      • Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings, recommendations, and conclusions from NDT procedures.
    2. Calibration & Equipment Maintenance:
      • Calibrate and maintain NDT testing equipment and instruments to ensure accurate and reliable results.
      • Regularly inspect and maintain testing devices, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
    3. Safety Compliance:
      • Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines while conducting tests to minimize hazards associated with testing materials.
      • Ensure compliance with industry safety regulations and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
    4. Data Analysis & Reporting:
      • Analyze results from inspections to determine whether components are acceptable or need further evaluation.
      • Provide detailed reports on test results, including any identified defects or inconsistencies, to the engineering or production teams.
    5. Documentation & Record Keeping:
      • Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, calibrations, and other related activities.
      • Ensure all test results and reports are properly documented, archived, and accessible for future reference.
    6. Continuous Improvement:
      • Participate in training and certification programs to stay updated on the latest NDT techniques, technologies, and industry standards.
      • Suggest improvements to testing processes and equipment to enhance productivity and accuracy.
    Qualifications:
    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. A degree or certification in a relevant field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science) is a plus.
    • Experience:
      • Prior experience in non-destructive testing, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or maintenance.
      • Experience with various NDT techniques (e.g., RT, UT, PT, MT, ET, VT).
    • Certifications:
      • Certification as an NDT Technician (e.g., ASNT Level I, II, or III) is required or highly preferred.
      • Certification in specific testing methods is an advantage.
    Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong knowledge of NDT techniques, standards, and industry practices.
    • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to operate and maintain NDT testing equipment.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document results and communicate with team members.
    • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
    Working Conditions:
    • May involve working in various environments, including industrial plants, construction sites, or maintenance locations.
    • Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, or under other challenging conditions may be required.
    • Shift work or weekend hours may be necessary depending on the job requirements.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials.
    • Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods and perform manual tasks involving fine motor skills.
