Job Description

A Networking Operatoris responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the computer networks that are used within an organization. This can include local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and cloud networks, as well as ensuring security and high-performance connectivity between devices, systems, and users.Key Responsibilities:Network Design and Architecture:
• Design and implement network infrastructure based on business requirements.
• Plan and configure network topologies, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
• Evaluate and select network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
Installation and Configuration:
• Install and configure network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking hardware.
• Set up and configure networking protocols like IP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
• Implement VLANs and subnets to optimize network traffic.
Network Monitoring and Maintenance:
• Monitor network performance, diagnose and resolve connectivity issues.
• Ensure proper network security measures are in place, such as firewalls and encryption.
• Conduct regular audits to identify vulnerabilities and performance bottlenecks.
• Perform routine upgrades and patching of network hardware and software.
Troubleshooting and Support:
• Provide on-call support for network-related issues and outages.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network problems like connectivity issues, slow speeds, or hardware failures.
• Offer technical support to other teams or departments within the organization.
Network Security:
• Implement network security strategies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).
• Conduct regular security assessments, patch management, and update firewalls or security appliances as necessary.
• Monitor for any potential network breaches and respond accordingly.
Documentation:
• Maintain up-to-date network documentation, including configurations, diagrams, and network setups.
• Prepare reports for network performance, security status, and incidents.
• Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions for future reference.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
• Technical Skills:
• Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
• Experience with networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
• Familiarity with network operating systems (Cisco IOS, Junos, etc.).
• Understanding of wireless networking and network security best practices.
Qualifications:
• Educational Requirements:
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certifications:
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) is preferred but not mandatory
