The ideal candidate should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to understand business needs and supplier capabilities. You will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, analysing purchasing needs, and ensuring the timely acquisition of materials at the best possible prices.Key Responsibilities:
    • Supplier Management:
      • Identify and establish relationships with new suppliers while maintaining relationships with existing ones.
      • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms of supply to ensure favourable outcomes for the company.
      • Evaluate supplier performance regularly based on quality, cost, and timely delivery.
    • Procurement Strategy:
      • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies aligned with company goals and budget.
      • Collaborate with internal teams to understand material requirements and anticipate future needs.
      • Ensure procurement processes are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the companys objectives.
    • Order Management:
      • Process purchase orders in a timely manner, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with company policies.
      • Track and monitor orders from initiation to delivery to ensure timely fulfilment.
    • Inventory Management:
      • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
      • Assist in inventory forecasting to avoid overstocking or stock shortages.
    • Analytical and Technical Skills:
      • Analyse purchasing data, market trends, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
      • Utilise procurement software and tools for managing purchase orders, supplier records, and reports.
    • Communication and Reporting:
      • Liaise with internal departments to ensure clear communication regarding material needs, delivery timelines, and procurement processes.
      • Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, budget adherence, and supplier performance to the management team.
    Qualifications and Skills:
    • A Graduate degree from a recognized institution.
    • 2-3 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to negotiate effectively with suppliers and work collaboratively with internal teams.
    • Confidence in decision-making and managing supplier relationships.
    • Analytical skills to assess purchasing needs, evaluate supplier options, and track market trends.
    • Basic technical proficiency with procurement software and tools.
    Preferred Skills:
    • Experience in procurement in the metal industry or manufacturing sector.
    • Familiarity with purchasing best practices and industry standards.
