Senior Petroleum & Production Engineer

Job Description

A Senior Petroleum & Production Engineer is a high-level upstream oil and gas role focused on optimizing well performance, designing artificial lift systems (ESP, gas lift), and resolving flow assurance bottlenecks. They act as the vital bridge between subsurface reservoir management and surface facilities engineering.Core ResponsibilitiesProduction Optimization: Monitor daily well performance, analyze production data, and implement corrective actions to maximize hydrocarbon recovery.Artificial Lift Strategy: Design, select, and manage the lifecycle of artificial lift systems like Electric Submersible Pumps (ESP) and gas lift.Flow Assurance: Diagnose and remediate downhole and surface challenges, including sand production, wax/scale deposition, corrosion, and slugging.Intervention & Workover Planning: Coordinate well interventions and collaborate with completions and drilling teams.SCADA & Digital Surveillance: Support remote monitoring, production dashboards, and data integrationLeadership: Provide root-cause failure analysis and mentor junior engineering staffTypical RequirementsEducation: Bachelors degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.Experience: Typically 10 to 15 years of upstream operational experience with an operating company.Technical Proficiencies: Strong expertise in nodal analysis, decline curve analysis, multiphase flow behavior, and production forecasting
