Job Description

    The mission of the Product Experience Engineering team is to understand how customers use Red Hat products both individually and as part of a portfolio solution and to amplify the user experience throughout the development cycle. Members of the Product Experience Engineering team collaborate with our customers as well as with our peers in Product Management, Engineering, Quality Engineering, Documentation, and Support to identify, troubleshoot, and prioritize customer issues. The Product Experience Engineering team empowers the larger PLM organization to focus on our portfolio strategy by ensuring the individual products are developed with the customer experience as a strong influence. A positive product experience benefits our customers as well as our peers by ensuring improvements through the life of a product. What you will do
    • Collaborate with peers in our Product Management, Engineering, Quality Engineering, Documentation and Support teams to prioritize customer issues based on trend analysis and feedback
    • Resolve complex customer problems including test case and patch creation
    • Manage workload to ensure that all readiness and customer issues are handled and driven to resolution in a timely fashion
    • Assist in the development of comprehensive and reusable self-service solutions for future incidents
    • Use available tools to investigate and troubleshoot technical issues
    • Exercise sensible judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
    • Analyze upstream development against current customer reported product defects and develop patches to resolve issues
    • Share and improve knowledge content for product technologies
    • Understand, develop, promote good practices for long-term solutions
    What you will bring
    • Highly motivated self-learner and team player, constantly improving/adapting on the fly and contributing to the team
    • BS or higher in Computer Science or other technical discipline or equivalent work experience
    • A minimum of 5 years experience as a support, sustaining or development engineer or other directly related experience in an enterprise environment
    • Strong troubleshooting mindset, creative problem-solver, capable of self-direction and effective time management
    • Passionate about both technology and customers, committed to providing the best experience possible for Red Hat customers
    • A track record of solving complex problems efficiently
    • The ability to read & write code in multiple languages
    • Experience in using Git and Github is a bonus
    • Upstream involvement in Open Source projects (patches submitted for upstream inclusion) a plus, but not required
