Job Description

• Analyze medical recordsReview medical records for missing information, documentation deficiencies, and to ensure that provider documentation meets legal and procedural requirements
• Assign codesAssign codes to medical diagnoses, clinical procedures, and other information, such as Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS), International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM), and American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) codes
• Generate billingUse the codes to generate billing for insurance companies to process
• Interact with othersInteract with physicians, claims staff, and attorneys regarding reports, billing and documentation policies, and procedures
• Other tasksCollect, research, and file patient medical information, conduct chart audits, and ensure that all documents are grammatically correct
