Job Description

  • Thorough knowledge of relevant National & International Standards & Codes, Design guides, Construction Practices/ methods, and new techniques for faster execution of site activities related to Electrical System for Projects.
  • Awareness of Electrical Engineering design Basis/ Design Philosophy & Design criteria.
  • Supervision of Installation, testing and commissioning of Cabling system, Lighting system, Earthing system, Lightning Protection System , Numerical realy settings, Substation Equipment layouts, UPS room layout, Battery room layout for various laboratories of R&D Complex, multistorey complex/ Pilot Plants etc.
  • Supervision of Installation, testing and commissioning of various substation Equipment e.g. EHV/HV/MV Switchboards, Power & Dist. Transformers, NGR, 415V Bus ducts, AC UPS, DC UPS and Cathodic Protection system and Electrical heat tracing system. Awareness of Numerical relays usage, Protection Coordination & relay settings, Cable schedules, Interconnection diagrams, power and lighting systems, Fire detection & Alarm systems, isolated and emergency power systems.
  • Conduct construction safety audits at site & awareness of statutory approvals for charging of Electrical system/substations at the project site.
  • Coordination with other disciplines at site wrt fouling of Electrical facilities/layouts and resolution of same along with any other teething site issues.
  • Perform functions of Lead Electrical Engineer at site assuming Site Management duties when the Lead Electrical Engineers is unavailable.
  • Basic knowledge involved for finalization of various Electrical Layouts-Cable Layout, Earthing layout, Lighting layout, Lightening protection Layouts for Buildings, Process Plants/Pilot plants and Substation Equipment Layouts.
  • Strict Enforcement and implementation of Electrical safe practices for all site electrical works.
, *Specific Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least five years of experience in supervision of site construction activities of Projects in Infrastructure Sector consisting of Commercial/Institutional buildings complexes.
  • Registration as a licensed professional engineer is added qualification.
  • Highly proficient computer skills including using applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Awareness of ETAP system study software, SP Electrtical software is preferable.
  • Knowledge of BIM software will be considered as added qualification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on the ability to organize and present construction related details/information to client.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
