Job Description

This position offers an opportunity for professional development and involvement in many areas of Retirement Valuation processing like:

  • Accounting for Employee benefits: Actuarial valuations under relevant Indian and International accounting standards. For employee benefits like; Gratuity, Leave, Long term awards, Provident Fund, Pension etc. There is the potential for gaining exposure to retirement work for other countries across Asia and Australasia as well.
  • Plan design: Advising on appropriate employee retirement plans for companies, modelling impact on future costs and building business cases using industry market benchmarking.
  • Retirement Advisory services: Providing companies with consulting advice on governance and best practices information on administering their retirement plans; also, due diligence in Merger & Acquisition scenarios
Performance ObjectivesClients
  • Works on all stages of the process from validating data received from the client to liability calculation with the final step of reporting results to the client in the form of actuarial reports
  • Prepares data validation, preliminary data reconciliation, detailed data query files and sends to reviewer for review
  • Gains an understanding of the Indian and International accounting standards
  • Support in Special Projects (Actuarial and Non-Actuarial) which involve intensive data analytics and client communication.
  • Deliver work in accordance to project deadlines
  • Support and learn from experienced Associates that serve as the project manager on some projects including: Creating project plans, Monitoring progress to deadlines and budget, Increased client interaction and Scheduling and managing regular status meeting calls
  • Ensuring appropriate and effective communication among team members
  • Deliver on projects to meet or exceed client expectations
  • Increase efficiency within client teams by identifying ways to improve processes

  • Work collaboratively with other colleagues and consultants to determine initial data needs, examine obtained client information and perform any follow up work required to populate complete information sets
  • Develop a strong understanding of the retirement benefit plans and industry and become familiar with the data, information, and various steps needed for accounting for employee benefits actuarial valuation activities
  • Seek and participate in key learning and development opportunities/maintain steady progress through actuarial exams
  • Prepare the first draft of reports for review by Senior Analysts/Consultants
  • Manage your time effectively between multiple assignments at a time
  • Adheres to all predefined steps while carrying out the work ensuring WTW Professional Excellence quality model.

  • Currently in final year of graduation and pursuing a bachelors degree in Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, any Engineering or an analytical subject
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and manage time effectively
  • Good analytical and research capabilities with the ability to challenge conventional thinking
  • Self-driven achiever with a value for teamwork, collaboration, decisiveness, and integrity
  • Proactive approach to meeting clients needs.
