Functional Area: FA - Finance Estimated Travel Percentage (%): No Travel Relocation Provided: Yes AIG ANALYTICS & SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED Requirement for NA PC Controllership (Canada Controllership) Job Description Strong accounting knowledge Experience in monthly and quarterly close activities Controlling and Reporting The primary responsibilities include accounting on US GAAP basis of accounting, preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and Statutory reporting per OSFI regulations Responsible for preparation of P&C return including Schedule and Exhibits, AFS and Supplement filings Responsible for US GAAP and Stat close on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis Work responsibilities pertain to following areas mainly : To perform and assure that all the accounting records required for USGAAP and STAT purposes are booked on time and with no errors (accuracy and completeness). Preparation of assigned balance sheet reconciliations. Make sure that the accounts are properly reconciled, the reconciliation items are having followed up and timely closure for targeted current ageing bucket Perform on assigned tasks towards Statutory reporting Interact with various areas within the organization to ensure timely and accurate financials Develop self paced good understanding (with manager s help) of applicable US GAAP and AIG s accounting and balance sheet reconciliation policies and OSFI guidelines Work together with various areas within the organization to ensure timely and accurate reporting Strong analytical skills to understand P&L and Balance sheet movements Skills and Key Capabilities Required Bachelor s degree/ Chartered Accountant / MBA (Finance) with relevant experience Analytical and practical problem solving skills with good organizational skills and attention to detail Understanding of GAAP and/ or statutory accounting principles is desired Good verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills Proficient in Microsoft office skills including MS- Excel, Word and Outlook Strong work ethic, motivation and desire to develop and advance Flexible for shifts during close period to work along with Canada office Eligibility 18 months in current role Should not be on active TIP or Verbal warning It has been and will continue to be the policy of American International Group, Inc., its subsidiaries and affiliates to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
