At iamwire we churn out a lot of resourceful content on a daily basis, and we are looking for a person who can run strict quality checks on this content. In an organisation like ours where the content is king, a proofreader who can also copy edit becomes the most desired person in the team. The role would be to ensure that all publication material is clear and consistent, complete and credible, and that text is well written, grammatically correct and accessible.Key Responsibility Areas: Proofread content created by the editorial team for quality checks, factual errors and credible referencing. Create and implement content quality guidelines. Fix spelling mistakes and grammatical errors in all content pieces. Check text to ensure it is well written and logically structured. Ensure the content is in line with iamwire s brand and editorial guidelines. Check facts and raise queries with the author. Look out for potential legal problems such as libellous statements or breach of copyright, and discuss them with the editor. Check illustrations and captions are correct. Check static website content and suggest improvements.Experience and Skill Set Required: Excellent command over written and spoken English, including good spelling and grammar A meticulous approach to their work and an eye for detail. Ability to maintain high- quality work while meeting tight deadlines. An inquisitive and critical mind. Good concentration, to focus on texts that may be lengthy or dull. Judgement in applying defined guidelines. Ability to retain the author s voice after editing. Working knowledge of content publication systems like WordPress is a plus. Basic photo editing skills are a plus. Confident and hard working. Ambition and determination to succeed. Dedication and commitment to achieve results. Proactive approach to work Team player. Persuasive and articulate Process- oriented and deadline focussed. The ability to work under pressure and meet targets.,
