Job Description

PowerSchool is seeking a Data Integrations Architect for its ERP teams. The Data Integrations Architect, under the general direction of the Manager and Director, Software Engineering, is responsible for setting the strategic direction of our offerings and infuse our culture with fresh ideas and perspectives. This role is responsible for helping to drive the company toward game-changing standards of excellence as we deliver our applications and services at web scale. The Data Integrations Architect will lead technology teams by employing technical best practices to most effectively execute on aggressive roadmap of new products (including .Net, Node.JS and other modern technologies as appropriate). The Data Integrations Architect is responsible for product designs and development of the overall architecture by working in a 5 to 15 product development team as Scrum Master, Lead Architect, and/or Technical Lead in framework and software module development efforts and ensuring the product supports the companys overall strategy and goals.Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Analyzing: Functional needs driving the design of a large and complex federated OLTP database (identifying performance and capacity issues with current system, as well as researching business rules and data processes that have minimal documentation) Requirements, design and develop SSRS reports Source files and schema and define the maps to data warehousesPartnering (with application developers, business analysts, product management team and agile/scrum masters) to: Contribute to the design of scaling out the database to handle a large end user base (high availability in public, private cloud; same for new web applications and services) Define business requirements, size and prioritize work, and execute on tasks that make the team agile and effective Develop, design, and implement our data warehouse and information architecture (define standards and procedures) Support the current and future data model requirements from the ETL processes Identify and create frameworks, standards and patterns, and facilitate usage across multiple agile scrum teams Evaluate and propose technologies for possible adoption. Collaborate with all teams to ensure technical direction meets the current and needs of product development strategiesOther: Other duties as assignedSkills/RequirementsQualificationsTo be considered for and to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.Qualifications include: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field required; Master s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred Minimum of three years experience delivering web applications at scale in public or private clouds Minimum of 6 years experience in Software Engineer roles developing designs, frameworks, standards, patterns and facilitating their use by teams of Software Engineers Minimum of five years experience with SOA Product Domain Application and Data Integration experience for Web Services Platforms and Messaging Systems. Experience architecting microservices and APIs in a Multi-Tenant environment. Experience building and deploying MEAN, Scala, Java, or .Net web applications; cross-platform expertise a plus. Ability to work with current software design principles and concepts such as patterns, algorithms, data structures, dependency injection, MV**, SOA, n-tier architecture, monolithic vs micro services, immutable server Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL (Aurora), RDBMS or NoSQL Databases Experience with Oracle, C#, TypeScript, Genero 4GL, or Node.js is a plus Understanding of the following:o Normalization and best practices on when to use function, views, stored procedures and transactions o Maintenance and backup strategies to communicate with DBA teamo Change control and deployment procedures Translates complex business needs and problems into innovative, technical, and world class solutions. Excellent communication skills where you can articulate solutions with people who have different skill sets. Communicate project status on regular basis. Ensure stakeholders are effectively informed in a timely manner. Ensures optimum performance, scalability, and usability with solid architectural standards.
