This individual will report into our VP of IT and lead our engineering organization into its next phase of growth. This role is equal parts strategic leadership and hands-on influence, shaping how we build, scale, and deliver systems that power a high-impact e-commerce business. Youll define the technical vision, develop strong engineering leaders, and ensure our platforms are reliable, scalable, and built for the future. In addition, travel to our U.S.-based headquarters in Melville, NY may be required up to once per year for internal meetings and team-building activities.Role Type: Full-TimeLocation: Remote from IndiaSchedule: Monday through Friday, 4:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time / 1:30 p.m. 10:30 p.m. Indian Standard Time to ensure effective collaborationBase Salary: $65,000 $92,000 USD per yearResponsibilities:Shape the future of our technologyDefine and execute a multi-year engineering and architecture strategy aligned with company goalsGuide system design and architectural decisions to support scalability, performance, and resilienceOversee Site Reliability Engineering to ensure operational excellence and system uptimeLead and grow high-performing teamsManage and develop Engineering Managers and senior technical leadersSet clear expectations, provide coaching, and build a culture of accountability and growthStrengthen leadership bench through mentorship, succession planning, and hiringDrive execution and delivery at scaleEnsure consistent, high-quality delivery across multiple teams and large-scale initiativesEstablish and track engineering metrics to improve performance, quality, and team healthOwn resource planning and align budgets to support strategic prioritiesPartner across the businessCollaborate closely with Product, Operations, and business leaders to prioritize work and deliver impactAlign engineering efforts with customer needs and business outcomesBuild the future teamLead hiring efforts for Engineering Managers and senior engineersDevelop and maintain a strong talent pipeline to support continued growthRequirements:15 years of progressive experience in software engineering, including 10 years leading teams and managing managersProven ability to influence senior stakeholders and align multiple teams around shared goalsExperience designing and delivering complex, scalable systems in cloud environmentsStrong foundation in system design, architecture, and modern engineering best practicesTechnical depth across:Backend: Java, Spring Boot, microservices architectureDatabases: MySQL, Oracle, RedisFrontend: JavaScript, React, TypeScript, modern frameworksMobile: Flutter or native iOS/Android developmentExperience leveraging AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude) to improve engineering productivityHigh-level proficiency of written and verbal communication in EnglishPreferred Qualifications:Experience leading or partnering closely with Site Reliability Engineering teamsFamiliarity with modern DevOps and infrastructure tools (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Linux/Unix, Nginx, Apache, ELK stack)Background in e-commerce, supply chain, or other high-transaction environmentsMasters or advanced degree in a technical or business fieldWhy work with us:We have awesome benefits We offer a wide variety of benefits to help support you and your loved ones.
