The role Firefighting Supervisor Your responsibilities will include: Meeting the requirements of daily fire management and/ or emergency need to be conducted on work sites. Identifying fire risk in all facilities and establishing firefighting management procedures according to classified fire/ explosion level. Supervising related departments, facilities and locations to follow firefighting management procedure. Being familiar with threading machine and all types of fire pipes (installation and maintenance). Establishing a plan of action for fire fighters answering calls in fire and rescue operations. Evaluating a fire scene and reporting correctly the situation to superiors and subordinates using a two- way radio. Directing inspections of the site to ensure compliance with fire and safety regulations. Coordinating in distribution of fire prevention promotional materials. Planning the acquisition of new equipment and using of new techniques in rescue, first aid and firefighting operations. Evaluating the performance of personnel and recommending awards for superior service. Compiling equipment and personnel reports including accident reports. Conveying direct investigation of cases of suspected arson, hazards, false alarms and submit reports outlining findings. Enforcing departmental regulations by inspecting fire stations, equipment, personnel, and records at assigned fire stations. Inspecting and testing new and existing fire protection systems, fire detection systems, and fire safety equipment in order to ensure that they are operating properly. Participating in creating fire safety guidelines and evacuation schemes. Developing or reviewing project site s fire exit plans. Maintaining required maps and records. Presenting and interpreting fire prevention and fire code information to the company, contractors and other stakeholders. Conducting fire drills for project teams and reporting the outcomes of such drills. Coordinating all firefighting issues with relevant parties and other jobs required by HSE department. The requirements Your experience, knowledge and skills need to include: Minimum 5 years experience in a similar position. Practical experience in operation and fire management at a supervisory level. Experience in inspection, testing and maintenance of fire alarms and firefighting systems. Excellent knowledge in firefighting system and lifesaving methods. Strong knowledge of public safety procedures and strategies. Good IT knowledge. Ability in training emergency response teams. Strong critical thinking and decision making skills. Being proactive and quick to respond. Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in English and Indian languages are required. Qualifications A degree qualification in safety or firefighting management certificate is essential. Professional memberships are an advantage but are not essential.
