• Fireman (Firefighter)A fireman is a frontline responder who tackles active emergencies. Their focus is on saving lives and mitigating immediate danger during a crisis.Emergency Response: Responds rapidly to fire alarms, chemical spills, car accidents, and medical crises.Search and Rescue: Enters hazardous, smoke-filled, or burning structures to locate and extract trapped or injured individuals.Extinguishment & Containment: Uses specialized hoses, pumps, and fire trucks to suppress fires and prevent them from spreading.Equipment Maintenance: Routinely checks and maintains fire engines, breathing apparatuses, and rescue gear so they are ready for deployment
• Fire Safety OfficerA Fire Safety Officer handles administrative, educational, and preventive measures within a specific facility or organization. They ensure a workplace or building is fully prepared for an emergency.Risk Assessment: Conducts routine inspections to identify and eliminate potential fire hazards in commercial, industrial, or healthcare spaces.Evacuation Planning: Designs, formulates, and runs regular fire drills and evacuation plans for all building occupants.Equipment Testing: Ensures that all life-safety equipment—such as fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and alarm systems—is functional and up to code.Compliance & Training: Trains staff on basic fire safety rules, safe handling of flammable materials, and proper response.

Fire Service Engineer (Fire Protection/Safety Engineer)A Fire Service Engineer is a technical expert who designs, analyzes, and tests the systems and building structures that prevent or control fires.System Design: Engineers complex fire suppression systems, including sprinkler networks, smoke extractors, and fire alarm schematics.Building Material Analysis: Collaborates with architects to recommend fire-resistant construction materials and structurally safe exit routes.Hydraulic Calculations: Performs calculations to ensure fire pumps and water pipes have the correct pressure and flow to suppress a fire.Incident Investigation: Investigates the origins of fires to understand how a buildings design or system performed, and uses these findings to improve future fire safety codes.
