    About the opportunityDepartment DescriptionThe Workplace Investing and Personal Financial Health (WPFH) Technology provides systems development, business analysis, architecture & engineering, implementation and support services for FIL s Workplace Investing, Personal Investing and Advisory businesses in UK, Continental Europe, Asia Pacific regions.Fidelity Personal Investing (PI) offers a guidance service to customers who wish to invest directly with Fidelity (without a financial adviser or broker). We have PI offerings in the UK, Germany, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong.The Advisor Platform is where intermediaries and clients linked with intermediaries can invest on the platform. Financial advisers manage their business and Fidelity support them in giving the most effective advice to clients looking to save money and plan for their retirements. This is done through our Fidelity Platform Business - FundsNetwork (FNW) in UK, Fidelity Frankfurter Fondsbank (FFB) in Germany & Austria.Workplace Investing offers investments and administrative services for both global and local corporate pension schemes and their employees. The corporate is the client of Fidelity and the employees are the members of the scheme. There are WI offerings in the UK, Germany and Hong Kong, along with the IPP based out of Dublin serving international companies.Purpose of your roleThe Senior Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of technology change projects. Working with the Programme Director you will be accountable for the successful delivery of multiple technology change projects, responsibilities will include:
    • Governance and the coordinated management of projects and change management activities
    • Project coordination: identifying, initiating, accelerating, decelerating, redefining and terminating projects within the programme. Managing interdependencies between projects, and between projects and business-as-usual activities
    • Ensuring successful provision of enhanced services from the current set of applications & services, both internally and vendor supplied. Including managing their on-going change, enhancements and maintenance.
    • Stakeholder management and communications: ensuring that relationships are developed and maintained, thus enabling productive, two-way communication with all key stakeholders.
    • On-boarding of new applications & services, both internally and vendor supplied
    Key Responsibilities
    • Plan and manage the overall project deliverables, issues, risk, plans and governance
    • Manage the programme/project budget costs
    • Work with business, technical (internal & external) and control teams to create robust and appropriate project plans
    • Identify, communicate, and put in place appropriate mitigation for project risks and dependencies
    • Hands-on programme/project management for your deliverables including the matrix management of the end-to-end project teams
    • Leading project team to ensure successful delivery of agreed scope on schedule & within budget
    • Regular reviews and assurance with project managers
    • Gaining a thorough knowledge of the projects being undertaken in terms of scope, functionality, risk & issues, timelines and cost. Ability to forecast and create roadmaps to achieve goals.
    • Managing the test and build environments associated with project workstreams
    • Co-ordinating across multiple system groups and ensuring all impacted parties are co-ordinated and deliver to a common project goal
    • Improving and assessing performance to apply new learning and knowledge
    • Required to effectively influence and assist key stakeholders, support multiple change initiatives and oversee and drive communication streams within and across change programmes in the portfolio
    Experience and Qualifications Required
    • Minimum of 13 years of IT experience in Financial Services sector with proven project management experience across the whole project lifecycle
    • Industry exposure and 5 years hand-on experience of managing large and diverse portfolio delivery in a global delivery model, preferably in Financial Services sector
    • Proven track record of successful implementations and strong business relationships
    • Self-starter. Excellent team player, disciplined, very structured with a conscientious approach
    • Ability to multi-task with strong and effective organisation skills. Excellent planning and organisational skills
    • Excellent team management skills. Practical experience of management and motivation of teams.
    • Strong communication skills with strong client management and negotiation skills
    • Delivery and results focused with the ability to manage complex relationships
    • Management of multiple projects within a programme
    • Exposure to agile and waterfall delivery methodologies
    • Ability to take high level directions/ideas and turn these into the required deliverables with the minimum of guidance
    • Pragmatically apply knowledge and experience to ensure activities/processes undertaken as conducted in a cost-effective manner
    • Ability to work with clients to a senior level
