Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Job Description

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer at our Cables Manufacturing Plant in Pune, your role involves ensuring the smooth functioning of machinery, minimal downtime, and adherence to safety and compliance standards. You will be responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment, troubleshooting and repairing plant machinery, overseeing HVAC systems, coordinating maintenance schedules, and managing documentation of maintenance activities.Key Responsibilities:Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment in the cables manufacturing plant.Troubleshoot and repair plant machinery, production lines, and critical utility systems.Maintain and service HVAC systems, including AHUs, chillers, ventilation systems, and cooling towers.Oversee maintenance of compressors, pumps, motors, conveyors, extruders, and other cable plant machinery.Coordinate with production teams for planned shutdowns and maintenance schedules.Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities, spare parts inventory, and compliance records.Ensure adherence to safety standards, ISO guidelines, and plant SOPs.Manage external vendors, contractors, and service technicians when required.Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine efficiency and reduce downtime.Required Skills & Competencies:Strong hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or cables plant.Good understanding of HVAC maintenance and plant utility systems.Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, SOPs, and equipment manuals.Knowledge of PLC-based machine interfaces (basic level).Solid troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of safety standards and maintenance best practices.Qualifications & Experience:Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance (preferably in cables/automotive/wire & cable/continuous manufacturing industries).Interested candidates can also share their CV on [provide email/website details].
