Job Description

Ciena makes your social / entertainment / business existence REAL.What will you do at Ciena Successful candidate will be responsible for testing of Ciena s optical platforms based on DWDM/OTN/ Ethernet technologies, and the associated testing with open user interfaces such as Netconf, REST, Yang Models etcResponsibilities Build in-depth knowledge of product architecture, Product Features & associated Standards, Customer network Use-Case Scenarios and Test Automation Tools and framework

  • Perform manual as well as Automation test execution. Good understanding of Automation is Must.
  • Review System requirements & Functional specifications and develop comprehensive solution test plans to validate customer use-cases and detailed feature test plans to validate product capabilities.
  • Plan and build test environments for feature and solution level test execution while considering potential and likely interactions across different features of the product.
  • Responsible for Test Case Writing, Execution, analyze test results, file defect reports & retest defect resolution.
  • Able to host test plan reviews for assigned features, as well as to contribute to test plan reviews held by other team members. Attend independently and provide comments for the functional requirements.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Expertise in at least two of the following technologies: DWDM, Ethernet, OTN, SONET/SDH.
  • Experience in disaggregated/Open architecture which embraces open source and new user interface technologies viz. OpenROADM, Yang models, NetConf , OpenConfig gRPC (gNOI, gNMI) , REST.
  • Fundamental knowledge of OpenROADM MSA Standards ,SDN controller and OTN/WDM Standards.
  • Knowledge of Automation languages such as Tcl or Python and should be able to write, execute and fix automation scripts.
  • Expertise in Testplan writing and test reviews. Execute Manual testcases and write/execute test script code for automated testing, stress, acceptance, and regression testing of optical transport systems and modules.
  • Ability to resolve complex issues that may require collaboration with different teams and adequately document test progress and results.
  • Strong commitment to product excellence and quality, with ability to understand customers perspective.
  • Good Team Skills and comfortable in a team environment with ability to work with little supervision.
Experience Bachelors or Masters in Engineering, Electronics/Computer Science, Telecom or Opti cal Communications or relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in testing SDH/OTN/DWDM Optical equipment.
