Team description: The Data Infrastructure team focuses on building a world class database platform to power travel worldwide. Our team supports top database technologies in the industry to meet all the database needs like non-relational databases for document data, indexing & search, key/value , cache and relational database (AWS Aurora).Business Contribution/Impact: Our team takes care of the data infra and operations for hundreds of development teams there by acceleration new product creation and innovation.What you ll do:Manage and maintain thousands of production customer nosql data bases nodesAutomate and innovate new ways to manage large database clusters and improve existing nosql db performance for our multitude of existing customer bases.Push the limits of Cassandra/Mongo and Elasticsearch , and other relational and NoSQL database technologiesWork with cutting edge technology in the cloud computing space, such as AWS or GCP/AzureProvide Fanatical Support to all of our customers (portfolio or product based) through innovative solutionsCreate sustainable and maintainable environments for our NoSQL arenasInstall, configure, update and troubleshoot very large database and search environments and applicationsCollaborate with Engineers, DBA s, and System Administrators on technical issuesBe part of the community. Attend conferences, meetups then move towards contribution via wiki articles, then blogging, etc.Who you are: Overall 5 years experience as a DBA3 years experience with NoSQL databases such as cassandra and elasticsearch5 years experience with Linux/Unix3 years experience with relational databases such as Oracle, Postgres, or MySQL2 years managing highly available, scalable production systems in a fast-paced production environmentExperience in Large data scale env, for example, 100 nodes and Terabytes level per indexExperience building and developing in both a cloud environment as well as on the direct host level (non-cloud level).Proficiency with Python, Perl, shell, MapReduce or other languagesUnderstanding of data architecture, replication, and administrationExtensive knowledge of Linux/UnixFast learner, creative thinker, problem solverTeam player, highly motivated and self-manageableResponsible, dedicated and responsive in non-working hours as neededExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsComfortable with collaborative tools such as slack, wikis and basic ticket tracking systems (JIRA)Action and detail oriented. Highly motivated to drive projects to completionNice to have:Shell, Ruby, C, Java development or driver experienceKnowledge of big data pipelines such as Hive, Pig, Spark, KafkaSome knowledge of load balancers, DNS, networking, and/or client side drivers.BS/MS in Computer ScienceLI-SM1,
