Openstack Provisioning Administrator I - 2Engineering Gurgaon , IndiaDescriptionOpenstack AdministratorResponsibility : Provide support to the RPC implementation team. Supports and interacts with customers through a combination of ticket and telephone calls regarding their new Private Cloud environmentsRole Description : OperationalKnowledge / Skills / Abilities : Advanced knowledge of Linux operating system.Able to implement intermediate level automation tasks using bash or python. Resolves matters escalated by OpenStack Administrators.Working knowledge of version control using git and github. Able to read , interpret , and debug basic Python and Ansible code.Able to assist sales team and customer wil intermediate design ideasAble to make routine configuration changes via ansible.Contributes to customer and process documentation in the wiki. Actively seek out guidance and knowledge from more experienced engineers.Basic understanding of OpenStack projects to include; Nova , Glance , Keystone , Cinder , Neutron , Nova - Network , Swift , and Horizon.Intermediate understanding of the DNS resolution process including standard DNS tools. Basic knowledge of Rackspace products including the dedicated and Cloud Portfolio.Intermediate working knowledge of common networking gear , e.g. , switches , firewalls , segmentation , routers , default ports for common protocols (HTTP , HTTPS , etc.) , and subnetting.Intermediate understanding of Health Check options (TCP , HEAD , GET) , and how to suspend servers and read loadbalancer rules. Basic understanding of RAID types (0 , 1 , 5 , 6 , 10) , and enterprise server hardware. Basic understanding of Enterprise storage , i.e. , SAN , LUNS , Fibre , NAS / NFS , DAS , HBA , disk types. Moderate understanding of the general LAMP stack.Fundamental understanding of Openstack Private Cloud.Linux software skills in Apache (SSL configuration & PHP) , Mail , Managed Backup (MySQL backups) , and other linux applications including Plesk , Bind , Urchin 5 , Postgres , Virtualization software , Oracle , and non standard services.JOB COMPLEXITY : Provide Implementation support to customers OpenStack projects & Openstack stoge obtions. Supports and interacts with customers through a combination of tickets , email and telephone issues. Troubleshoots OpenStack environments to resolve virtualization related issues. Liaise with internal Rackspace support and development teams. Educates customers and looks for additional opportunities to help improve their environment. Works with vendors and the OpenStack community to address technical issues. Due to the 24x7 operations of the business , must be able to work a flexible work schedule , may include nights , weekends , holidays , emergency escalations , etc.SUPERVISION : Operates under moderate supervision.EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION : High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor s degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience. 2+ years of experience as a Linux System Administrator. Willingness to be on call 24x7 , in the event of major customer emergencies.PHYSICAL DEMANDS : General office environment. May require long periods sitting and viewing a computer monitor.
