The team youll be part of The Cloud and Network Services (CNS) business group is a growth engine for Nokia. Our focus is to create value for both service providers and enterprise customers by leading the transition to cloud-native software and as-a-service delivery models as demand for critical networks accelerates.In CNS, there is Business Applications team whose mission is to establish Nokia as the leader in cloud-based solutions for Customer Service Providers and Enterprise.In Business Application, you will be part of Nokia Convergent Charging Product R&D team. Built on Nokia s cloud-native Common Software Foundation (CSF), Nokia s multi-vendor and multi network software solutions enrich and secure user experiences; automate operations and infrastructure; and enable new revenue streams and cost efficiencies. What you will learn and contribute to You will be working on a world class product in Charging domain. The Nokia NCC product provides real-time convergent rating, charging solutions of various traffic types including mobile, 4G/LTE and IMS, 3G and 2G. NCC allows operators to offer post-paid, prepaid rating and charging for data event and session, and commerce services as well as voice and SMS/MMS. Our new evolutions in product are capable to handle monetization scenarios for 5G and IoT devices. Product is being built using microservices capable to run on any Kubernetes based cloud environment. There is entire world of 5G scenarios those are yet to be explored and implemented in the product along with some real challenging tasks to convert legacy modules into microservice. There would be a huge scope of learning Advance Java, Osgi, No-sql (aerospike), big distributed systems, Kubernetes, Microservice, 4G/5G telecom, Diameter/REST/SOAP, and then Charging itself that is quite interesting to learn. There is scope of innovation also if you have interest to do something different. To showcase your ideas and technical skills, Nokia gives opportunity to people to participate in hackathons, presenting white papers in different forums on different topics and also there is group that helps people to file patents. As a part of our team, you will contribute in:
• Understanding and refining customer or internal product features requirements
• Understanding the high-level design prepared by Architect
• Preparing the high-level design for complex feature features with Architect guidance.
• Contributing to prepare low level design
• Doing coding, unit testing, and functional testing
• Doing profiling of code using profilers to detect and remove performance related issues
• Suggesting and developing new tools and techniques required to improve development and testing efficiency.
• Reviewing and recommending improvements in development and testing processes.
• Helping customer to resolve their issues/bug.
• Making NCC a number one charging product in world
Your skills and experience Qualification: Bachelor s or master s degree (Telecom/Computers/IT) or MCA with 1-4 years of relevant experience You must have:
• Strong Java skills, preferable with J2EE application server environment
• Web Services (REST, SOAP, XML)
• Data Structures and Algorithms
• Knowledge of Java Design patterns and Java Frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of data modelling techniques
• Ability to Design and code for scalability
• Good hands-on with Linux OS-based systems
• Strong debugging skills on IDE like Eclipse or IntelliJ
• At least one Version Management tools like Git, Gerrit, Gitlab, Clearcase, SVN etc
• At least one Collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, SharePoint etc
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
It would be nice if you also have:
• Charging concepts and development experience: LTE, 3GPP architecture, Real time charging systems, 5G and IOT use cases
• Prior work experience on SPS, SurePay, NOKIA 5780 DSC and/or any competitive Charging product
• DB experience preferably NoSQL based DB
• Experience with Diameter/4G interfaces (mainly base protocol, Gy, Sy, and Ro interfaces)
• Knowledge of 5G interfaces (mainly NCHF - N40, N28)
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTP2, HTTPS
• Virtualization/Cloud experience.
• Multi-tiered/Full-stack application development experience: OS, Platform, Front end, Back end, DB, Network
• Scripting (bash, Python)
• Knowledge of Maven, Ant or Gradle Scripts
• Version Management and Collaboration tools like Git, Gerrit, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint
• Exposure to Microservices, Docker, Containers, Kubernetes and related areas.
