Job Description

*Main role and responsibilitiesYou will be responsible for:- Ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of web-based applications and systems in coordination with an externalized operations team.- Work closely with development, operations, and infrastructure teams to deploy, manage, and monitor web applications and infrastructure.- Implementation and maintenance of automation tools, optimizing performance, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality web services. 1. Infrastructure Management: a. Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure reliable and scalable web infrastructure.b. Monitor and manage web servers, load balancers, databases, and other infrastructure components to maintain optimal performance and availability.c. Lead the implementation of infrastructure as code (IaC) practices to enable automation and scalability. 2. Performance Optimization: a. Identify performance bottlenecks and work with development teams to optimize web application performance.b. Monitor and analyze system metrics, application logs, and user feedback to proactively address performance issues.c. Implement caching strategies, content delivery networks (CDNs), and other techniques to enhance web application performance. 3. Monitoring and Incident Management: a. Implement monitoring solutions to track the health, performance, and availability of web applications and infrastructure.b. Respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.c. Collaborate with support teams and developers to resolve incidents and ensure timely incident response. 4. Security and Compliance: a. Coordinate security best practices to protect web applications and infrastructure from vulnerabilities and attacks. Includes Source Code Governanceb. Collaborate with security teams to perform security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and compliance audits. Including Schneider Crown Jewel Controlsc. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS). 5. Collaboration and Documentation: a. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA engineers, system administrators, and project managers, to ensure smooth operations and project delivery.b. Document processes, procedures, and technical configurations to maintain a knowledge base and enable effective collaboration. 6. Deployment and Configuration Management: a. Deploy web applications and services across various environments (development, testing, production) using established deployment processes and tools.b. Manage configuration changes, ensuring consistency and version control across different environments.c. Automate deployment processes to streamline operations and reduce manual effort., *Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant work experience).- Strong knowledge of web technologies, including APIs, UiaaS, web servers (e.g., Apache, Nginx), application servers (e.g., Tomcat, JBoss), cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL), and caching systems (e.g., Redis, Memcached).- Proven experience in web application deployment, configuration, and maintenance.- Competence in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).- Competence in Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.- Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and practices,
