Primary Responsibilities:
  • Install or configure and operationally manage standalone & database clusters
  • Monitor or Remediate alerts and provide Operational support for Oracle/PostgreSQL databases
  • Monitor Oracle database performance using tools such as Stats pack, AWR, ADDM, ASH and SQL advisors and recommend tuning options
  • Monitor Oracle ASM storage; perform adding, resizing of data files, space management on disk groups, rebalancing of disks, etc.
  • As needed, perform Oracle DB backup and recovery using RMAN, Hot Backup, Data pump, cloning techniques
  • Perform DB patching, investigate and remediate vulnerabilities
  • Collaborate with application developers and troubleshoot issues
  • Develop automated scripting/assist in manual deployments for application code as needed and promote DevOps
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5-7 years of Oracle DBA experience with some exposure to PostgreSQL DB
  • Database installation/configuration and performance tuning skills
  • Experience with Oracle RAC
  • Experience monitoring and resolving Oracle OEM Grid Alerts
  • Experience with Data Guard for switchover/failover
  • Database administration experience with Oracle Databases on Ex-data
  • Experience in Installation, configuration of pgBouncer for connection pooling & of rules in pg_hba.conf
  • Experience in Backups/restoration using pg_dump/pg_basebackup & pg_restore utilities
  • Willingness and flexibility to cross train in new DBA technologies and tools as part of today s DevOps landscape
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to provide rotational 24/7 on-call support
