Job Description

    Desired Qualification Education 10 + 2 with Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery or Basic/ Post Basic B Sc Knowledge Principles of Basic Nursing and Technical Nursing, Human Anatomy Job Responsibilities Wards Getting oriented toward routines, equipment and type of patients. Preparing nursing plans and rendering effective bedside nursing care. Administering on time medications and counter checking therapies Coordinating with the administrative assistants regarding admission, discharges and billing activities. Ensuring that all investigations are carried out as advised by the doctor, reports collected on time for doctors perusal and further advice. Assisting the doctor in special procedures, dressings and rounds. Maintaining medical and nursing records of patients as per the requirements Raising requisitions for drugs, diets, investigations, etc Maintaining personal, patients and environmental hygiene. Checking and recording vital signs legibly and promptly. Implementing all protocols in the unit as hand washing, infection control, medications, narcotic policy, ICU, personal valuables, etc. Handling with care and with knowledge all gadgets used in patient care. Following strictly all safety measures involved in patient care. Taking over and handover properly at change of shifts. Being aware of patients rights and preserving the same. Attending in-service programs and enhance knowledge. Ensuring strict discipline and decorum at all times. OT Ensuring all the above-mentioned responsibilities in addition to specific responsibilities in the concerned area of work. Providing nursing assistance in other areas of the hospital during exigencies.Senior Staff Nurse : In addition to above Training of nurses in the department. Supervising and coordinating patient care activities to ensure that services are carried out according to policies and procedures plan. Participation in training program. Attentions to prevention of hospital cross-infection. Nursing documentations and reports as require Supervision of housekeeping staff in the dept etc.
