Job Description

Role title:

Technical Lead/Sr. Tech Lead Operations Engineering Service Delivery Manager, Service Delivery Gurgaon / Bangalore India

Role purpose

The candidate will be responsible to understand the Customer requirements mentioned in Order and need to perform thorough check/feasibility including end to end capacity check during planning, in addition to Layer 2 transmission planning coordination with various teams like CST/ Engineering / Capacity Management is must . Gather and analyse Customer specific requirements and based on those inputs plan the services on different platform like OTN DWDM / Ethernet / SONET/SDH / Networks and NGN networks as per routing guidelines/deployment rules .

Candidate will be responsible to lead complex customer projects. He/she is expected to have technical expertise on current platforms and processes so that he/she works as Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the team. The person will be responsible to lead escalations and must demonstrate Colt values at all stages.

Need to be familiar with multiple applications used within Colt like Siebel , XNG , XTRAC , Google earth (.KMZ) etc.

Section 1 Core Tasks
  • Planning of circuits over COLT s DWDM / MSP / Ethernet /SDH/ DSLAM based Networks, against customer contracts
    • Ensure KPI conformance 99%.
  • Maintain a high quality of output and ensure completion of tasks with a target of zero errors.
    • Real time closure of Order Handling System, Siebel XTRAC (workflow tools) tasks. Real time updating XNG Database Systems. Interfacing with peer groups within SD teams. Section 2 - Additional Responsibilities Managing escalations / issues on daily basis.
  • Perform quality check and drive initiatives to improve quality / accuracy at provisioning stage.
  • Handling complex solution related deliveries like Wave,NGN Packet Ethernet VPN/ Bespoke etc.
    • Leading executing delivery projects and migration projects. Leading weekly calls with stakeholders in IN Key performance indicators (financial and non-financial) Good knowledge of Transmission- OTN / DWDM / Carrier Ethernet / Fiber / SDH / EoSDH Ensure 100% of Quality of deliverables / On time delivery
  • Experience or Good exposure in Planning / installations commissioning / testing / NOC environment (on , DWDM,SDH , Ethernet and EoSDH)
  • Good knowledge of various interface used to deliver Data, Voice and IP based circuits on transmission network.
    • Knowledge of Ethernet, TDM and IP principles and practices Excellent customer facing skills / Good time management skills
  • Good working knowledge on MS Office (Word, PPT Excel) and other tools used for day 2 day administrative tasks.
    • European language awareness like German or French will be preferred. Relationships and key contacts

    Country Service Delivery teams, Order Processing, Capacity Planning Teams, Service Assurance / Engineering Teams , Sales , CST

    Role specific requirements

    Skills Experience

    • The ideal candidate with 8 -1 5 years of relevant industry experience in Planning (Access and Core Network) .Good understanding/Knowledge on installations commissioning / testing / NOC environment (on DWDM , Ethernet , SONET/SDH and EoSDH), and have practical experience of Bandwidth provisioning and testing .Knowledge on MSP NGN technologies will be preferred.
    • Hands on experience in Ciena 6500 , Infinera DTN/DTN-X , Cisco (Layer 2 devices)
    • Excellent knowledge of Transmission, Ethernet / DWDM / OTN /SONET/ MSP / M MSP / Optical and Packet Network Technologies
    • Excellent understanding of Metro-Ethernet technologies and MPLS based L2 VPN services (Ethernet P2P / Hub and Spoke)
    • Good knowledge of various interface used to deliver Data, Voice and IP based circuits on transmission network.
    Resulted Oriented and good team player Qualifications Graduate Engineer in Electronics Communication engineering
    • Working Hours : Will be required to work in 24 x 7 environment (covering India, Asia, EU and Night shift timings)
    • Travel Requirements: As per Business needs. Should possess a valid Passport.
    • Be aware of colt information security, business continuity, quality and other ISO or equivalent policies/ industry standards and discharge duties against them as appropriate.
    • Identify risks related to process and information security and treat/ mitigate the same as appropriate
