Job Description

    The Purchase Engineer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, components, and equipment required for the organizations operations. They ensure that all purchases meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements while maintaining strong supplier relationships. The role involves collaborating with internal teams to understand technical specifications and aligning them with procurement strategies.Key Responsibilities:
    1. Procurement Planning:
      • Identify and procure materials, equipment, and services in alignment with project requirements and production schedules.
      • Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely approval and issuance.
    2. Supplier Management:
      • Research and identify reliable suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers.
      • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
      • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships for long-term partnerships.
    3. Technical Analysis:
      • Understand technical specifications, drawings, and standards to ensure the procurement of the correct materials and components.
      • Coordinate with engineering and production teams to verify material requirements.
    4. Negotiation:
      • Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.
      • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and resolve disputes effectively.
    5. Quality Assurance:
      • Ensure purchased materials and equipment meet quality standards and specifications.
      • Coordinate with the Quality Control team for inspection and testing of procured items.
    6. Market Research:
      • Stay updated on market trends, new materials, and emerging technologies.
      • Identify cost-effective alternatives and assess the impact on operations.
    7. Inventory Management:
      • Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment of materials.
      • Coordinate with the warehouse team to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
    8. Documentation and Reporting:
      • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier agreements.
      • Generate procurement reports and provide updates to management as needed.
    Qualifications and Skills:
    • Education:
      • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (preferred).
      • Additional certifications in Supply Chain Management or Procurement (e.g., CPSM, CPP) are an advantage.
    • Experience:
      • Minimum of [X] years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
    • Technical Skills:
      • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering standards.
      • Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement tools.
