Mechanical Technician

Job Description

Mechanical Technician performs and assists with a range of tasks including maintaining, installing, testing, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Key duties involve diagnosing malfunctions, calibrating machinery, collaborating with engineers on designs and improvements, and performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. This role requires adherence to safety protocols, proper documentation, and often involves hands-on work with tools and heavy equipment across industries like manufacturing, transportation, and energy. Common Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine inspections and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical issues, identify faulty components, and carry out repairs or replace parts as needed.
• Installation: Install new machinery and systems, working with engineers to ensure proper setup and adherence to specifications.
• Testing and Calibration: Set up and test equipment, performing tests and calibration procedures to ensure proper functionality and performance.
• Design and Development: Assist engineers in the design and testing of new mechanical products and systems, including creating prototypes and analyzing performance results.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, time spent, and any identified improvements.
