Job Description

DESCRIPTIONAmazon is seeking Business Analyst in the Competitor monitoring team. We are looking for a self-starter with strong analytics experience who can work on complex business problems, help provide actionable recommendations in a structured and accurate manner. As a Business Analyst, the candidate will play a key role in the development of key business metrics, reports and insights using data visualization, as required.Business Analyst will be expected to be skilled in understanding customer needs, converting them to analysis requirements, having working knowledge of data availability in various sources, building stakeholder confidence through effective communication and derive recommendations. The candidate would also be responsible for the project plan, scaling of data processes and reports, and project timeline and deliverables. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and large datasets. They will have strong attention to detail, SQL skills, experience with statistical analysis and data visualization tools, and the ability to clearly communicate and present data insights. The candidate should be able to access or retrieve some of the most complex data through efficient query design, solve the most complex and ambiguous analytics projects and have broad understanding of data availablity in both traditional and non-traditional sourceKey Performance Areas:1. Solve ambiguous problems with less well-defined inputs and outputs drive to the crux of the problem and identify root causes.2. Identify, develop and execute data analysis to uncover areas of business opportunities3.Learn and understand the broad range of Amazons data resources and develop knowledge of how, when and which data sources to use.4. Deep dive into massive data sets to answer key business questions using SQL, MS Excel and data analytics tools.5. Diving deep to fully understand the ETL pipelines, report architecture and metric definitions, debugging report issues and unblocking workflows. 6. Present written recommendations and insights to key stakeholders.7. Engage with leadership and diversified stakeholder groups to understand their analytical needs and recommend Business intelligence solutions.8. Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing performance metrics, reports, analysis, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions9. Standardize data and report consumption across all customer groups . Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation10. Work with data engineering, Machine learning and software development teams to enable the appropriate capture and storage of key data points 11. Run basic regression methods and identify opportunities to leverage more advanced modeling methods.12. Partner with Data Engineering teams to influence the direction of data visualization platforms.13. Coach effectively direct reports to be able to deliver the team goals and support career developmentBASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
• 3+ years of writing SQL queries and creating business intelligence reports using Tableau, Power BI experience
• Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
• Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
• Experience with Excel
