Job Description

SummaryThe IB/Sustaining engineer for RF Coils, MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) understands the function and design of RF circuits, RF electronics, antennas and their application in the design of phased-array receive coils as well as well-versed in RF coil testing. The MRI Coils IB/Sustaining Engineer will interact with suppliers and customers, trouble-shoot coils and fix customer complaints to maintain existing installed base MRI receive coils. This role would also require mentoring junior engineers in the team via sharing MRI system knowledge.GE HealthCare is a leading global medical technology and digital solutions innovator.   • Interacting with suppliers and customers.
  • Troubleshooting of coils, fixing customer complaints. Specifically, solve complex and ambiguous problems. Perform troubleshooting (at bench level and system level) encompassing multiple variables to achieve root cause analysis and problem resolution.
  • Conduct experiments and diagnostic tests, as required, to draw conclusions and solutions.
  • Lead investigation into field issues on coils through troubleshooting and root cause investigation for problem resolution.
  • Setting up coil testing test-bench.
  • Conduct coil testing.
  • Conduct Verification & Validation activities on an MRI system including relevant documentation.
  • Mentor junior engineers in the discipline of RF coil design and testing/qualification.
Educational Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent technical degree.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in electrical design or circuit board design.
  • Demonstrated MRI systems engineering knowledge.
  • Good understanding of Magnetic Resonance Imaging fundamentals, RF coil design, resonant circuit design and electromagnetics.
  • Experience with MRI system operation.
  • Hands on hardware experience on electrical circuits and components.
