Job Description

Position: Data Center TechnicianStatus: University GraduateStart Date: 2026Location: Inzai, Chiba, JapanExperience Level: EarlyMinimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters degree.
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware/network issues using Linux tools.
  • Experience with LPIC or working with Linux (e.g., Red Hat, Slackware, Fedora, SUSE, Ubuntu, Debian, Gentoo), Unix (e.g., Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, BSD), or other similar OS (Windows).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of intermediate OS, PC hardware and networking concepts, tools, and protocols.
  • Ability to lift/move heavy equipment as needed.
  • Ability to start in 2026.
About the JobThe Hardware Operations team is responsible for building and maintaining the physical infrastructure behind Googles systems. As a Data Center Technician, you will install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware (e.g., servers and their components) and interact with server software (e.g., Googles Linux clusters). You will also deploy and maintain Googles advanced data center server and network infrastructure.Responsibilities
  • Contribute efforts/projects in the deployment, maintenance, and support of current and new data center infrastructure.
  • Provide troubleshooting, and resolve critical, or escalated technical issues.
  • Help test and troubleshoot new server hardware components and designs.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Linux OS-related issues on servers.
