Senior Manager Raw Material Sourcing (Biomass)

Job Description

As a Senior Manager Raw Material Sourcing (Biomass) reporting to the Head of Operations/Director, your main goal is to lead and oversee biomass raw material sourcing activities across multiple manufacturing plants. This involves ensuring a sustainable supply of biomass that aligns with production targets. Your responsibilities include:- Designing and implementing outreach programs to villages, aggregators, and traders for sustainable biomass procurement.- Establishing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders in sourcing regions.- Allocating annual biomass procurement targets to plant-level raw material teams based on production requirements.- Supervising and guiding plant-based sourcing teams to meet assigned targets and quality standards.- Aligning raw material procurement plans with annual and monthly production targets.- Monitoring market trends, supply availability, and pricing of biomass raw materials.- Ensuring compliance with company policies, legal norms, and sustainability guidelines in sourcing activities.- Coordinating with production and quality control teams to ensure consistency in supply and material quality.- Preparing regular procurement performance reports for management review.- Identifying new sourcing regions and developing supplier networks to support plant expansion plans.Qualifications & Experience:- Graduate in Agriculture, Forestry, Supply Chain Management, or related field (Masters preferred).- Minimum 10 years of experience in agricultural commodity procurement, rural outreach, or supply chain management; biomass sector experience strongly preferred.- Proven track record in multi-location procurement team management.- Strong networking and negotiation skills with rural suppliers and traders.- Excellent communication skills in Hindi and English; regional languages desirable.- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and data analysis tools.- Willingness to travel extensively across sourcing regions and plant locations.Competencies:- Strategic thinking and execution.- Team leadership across dispersed geographic locations.- Relationship management with rural suppliers.- Decision-making under variable market conditions.- Strong analytical and reporting skills.In addition, the company has defined key performance indicators (KPIs) for the role, such as Annual Biomass Procurement Target Achievement, Supplier Diversity Ratio, Outreach Program Effectiveness, Procurement Cost per Tonne, Feedstock Supply Reliability, Sourcing Team Performance, Quality Compliance Rate, Procurement Cycle Time, Emergency Procurement Ratio, Supplier Retention Rate, and Market Intelligence Updates. These KPIs will be crucial in evaluating your performance in the role.This is a full-time, permanent position that requires in-person work at the specified locations.
