Job Description

    As a Research Farm Activities Manager at RBEL, your role involves managing the research farm activities on identified land parcels. You will develop, implement, and monitor strategies to protect crops from biotic factors, ensuring optimal crop health and productivity. Your responsibilities include maintaining R&D trials of various varieties of Hybrid Napier and other bio-energy crops disease-free, validating SOPs for pests and diseases, and working with crop breeders and agronomists to develop new crop protection products or methods.Key Responsibilities:- Identify seasonal diseases occurring on bio-energy crops and implement appropriate management methods- Conduct trials for screening bio-energy crops for biotic stress tolerance, especially plant diseases- Coordinate with national and international experts on energy plantations for collaboration- Maintain the farm by implementing plant protection practices timely to facilitate growth- Develop standard pest and disease management practices in bio-energy crops for expected yield and quality- Establish systems and procedures for R&D data recording and analysis- Monitor demonstration plots for disease-free yields at all R&D locations- Handle crisis management at the field level and resolve disputes with farmers- Implement digitally driven Management Information System (MIS) on the groundQualifications:Necessary:- Masters degree in Agriculture with specialization in Plant Pathology, Entomology, and Crop ProtectionDesirable:- Knowledge and skills in maintaining a research farm and related operations- Good people management skillsExperience:Necessary:- 2-4 years of hands-on experience in pest and disease identification and implementing crop protection strategies- Deep understanding of pest life cycles, disease symptoms, and control methodsDesirable:- Familiarity with chemical, biological, and organic crop protection techniques- Thorough knowledge in field operations(Note: No additional details of the company were mentioned in the job description) As a Research Farm Activities Manager at RBEL, your role involves managing the research farm activities on identified land parcels.
