Job descriptionRole & responsibilities
• Cleaning and sanitizing: Kitchen helpers clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and floors. They also ensure that all work areas are properly sanitized.
• Food safety: Kitchen helpers adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines. They know proper food handling procedures and remove expired or spoiled ingredients.
• Assisting with food preparation: Kitchen helpers assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation, such as washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting food.
• Receiving and storing: Kitchen helpers receive and store deliveries of food and kitchen supplies.
• Inventory management: Kitchen helpers assist with inventory management and stocking supplies.
• Setting tables: Kitchen helpers bring clean dishes, flatware, and other items to serving areas and set tables.
• Replenishing supplies: Kitchen helpers replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and in serving areas.
• Removing dishes: Kitchen helpers remove dishes before and after courses.
