Job Description

Job Purpose:Monitor day-to-day plant operation, ensure plant safety & reliability, provide input for daily operations, and guide operations for implementing best practices, troubleshooting, and debottlenecking plant unit and related equipment. Coordinate technical services, maintenance activities, unit shut down and start-up.Key Accountabilities:Compliance with MSHEMS Procedure: Comply with Maaden policies and MSHEMs procedures. Ensures MSHEM procedures compliance in his area with right tools & equipment to perform their task safely. Be aware of all MSDS, MSHEM in general and be fully familiar with specific MSHEM responsibilities related to the position and ensure full compliance to MSHEM Systems, Practices and Procedures. Fully aware of EHSS critical equipments & its maintenance strategy Participate in department risk assessment, Coordinate implementation of controls from results of hazard analysis. Reports all Near Misses & Accidents. Conduct training of operating personnel in relation to new equipment installation and process control modifications.Routine Job Compliance: Ensure daily capacity utilization & production budget achievement. Reviews unit-operating data (Shift Supervisor Log, Operators Log). Conduct daily routine checks of the unit for visual inspection and communicate findings and abnormalities to the Shift Supervisor. Coordinate start-up and shutdown of the plant by following standard operating procedures. Review notification status with Engineering and Maintenance. Plan the required engineering input. Follow up and track work orders in SAP. Plan and coordinate all activities, prior to, during and after unit shutdowns. To support operators and shift supervisors to operate plants as per the standards SOP and MSHEM procedure to produce efficiency at high quality level and as per the production plan and targets. Troubleshooting and tracking for any plant abnormal condition or low productivity. Fully responsible for equipment performance monitoring & do effective communication to schedule breakdown equipments. Follow up MOC. Implement PHA, safety audit, RCA, Process improvement & technical recommendation. Checking the plant prior to start-up for conformance to specifications, drawing, design intent, safety, and operability (PSER). Prepare change lists and actions lists as per PSER. Monitors all EHSS bypass during normal Operations and plant upset. Improve & monitor plant sustainability. Monitor & keep tracking Risk Assessment interim & mitigation action plans. Develop, follow up and monitor the performance of operation staff and ensure compliance to JQP, IDP, ERT & MSHEM training. Ensures Plant Operating Parameters, process analyzers & plant performance within specified limits as per SOP, instructions & Guidelines. Follows up corrective actions during any deviations and troubleshoots during emergencies. Drive continuous improvement methodology and principles within the area to improve operational performance. Monitor and Analyze DCS alarms for corrective actions & optimization. Manage work in demanding situations during plant Turnaround, Start-up & Shut down, emergencies, maintain a steady operational state operation or any other operational assignments. Receives priority jobs from the Manager such as critical activities in Control Room & Field. Completes his assigned tasks in specified time. Takes round in field to ensure Excellent Housekeeping, waste control & management.Operation Team Communication: Reads logbook, handover log and identifies items requiring follow-up. Conduct daily meetings with Plant Site Supervisors to feedback critical and responsible activities. Share management areas of concern on important issues and, ensure necessary directives are issued at the end of daily meetings to realize Company goals. Report clear information about Abnormalities of plant operational parameters, analysis results and correctives actions to Manager. Corrective action for process parameters deviations, problems Troubleshooting and develop & initiate solutions for operational issues affecting production. Receives EHSS Equipment PM Plan and submits Risk Assessments accordingly to comply EHSS Bypass. Collects information of all EHSS incidents, Key plant operational problems / concerns and plant & equipment performance parameters from Shift Supervisor.Abnormality Assessment and Actions: Maintain equipment and the area under control in a safe operable condition and identify all reliability issues. Observe equipment conditions for any changes in parameters, analyzers or other abnormality; and discuss with Shift Supervisor for corrective action plan. Fully aware of Environmental requirements for the process. Reports any Off Spec emission / Waste generation. Assists handling Plant emergencies, assist Shift supervisor to ensure safety and reliability.Job Knowledge: Fully familiar with his area High Potential Hazards, Emergency Response strategies. Follows up plant parameters to have best performance & efficiency of Units. Assists analyzing any problem with supervisor for actions. Minimize all environmental emissions and proper disposal of generated waste. Proposes changes to operating practices and procedures without any failure for the betterment and speedy completion of work.Quality Knowledge: Complies with the Maaden policy, procedure, SOP, checklist, data log sheets etc. Knows the significance of on-line process analyzers and Lab result on product quality and take corrective action accordingly. Monitor various unit process samples results from Lab (QA) results on a routine basis in relation to target specification and confirms compliance. Discusses about Abnormalities of plant operational parameters, quality upsets and analysis results with Shift supervisor and related correctives actions. Maintain all set Quality management standards to 100% compliance in the department.Maintenance Activities Coordination: Follows startup & shutdown procedures, preparing systems, isolating and logging out systems for equipment / line safe handover for Maintenance activities, in consultation with Field Operator. Assists maintenance staff for hot and cold vessel entry and gives any required approvals in keeping with standard operating procedures.Self-Development Management: Achieve & attend trainings as per IDP plan. Utilize his spare duty time for his continuous improvement by using e-learning tools, reading documents like MSHEM, Technical etc. Works closely with Manager for tracking of his training and IDP.Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Bachelors degree in Engineering or related fields Minimum 5 Years Experience as Shift Supervisor in industrial operations.Competencies: Awareness & Compliance of Safety procedures / MSHEM Standard. Good level in English language & PC skill Problem solving & Decision-making.
