Job Description

    Job Overview:A PCB Layout Design Engineer is responsible for designing and developing printed circuit board (PCB) layouts to meet electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing requirements. The role involves working closely with hardware engineers, mechanical engineers, and manufacturers to ensure high-quality PCB designs that meet performance, reliability, and cost targets.Key Responsibilities: Design and develop multi-layer PCB layouts using industry-standard design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics, or OrCAD). Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize circuit design and component placement. Perform signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal analysis to ensure PCB performance. Generate Gerber files, Bill of Materials (BOM), and other manufacturing documentation. Work with fabrication and assembly vendors to optimize manufacturability (DFM) and testability (DFT). Ensure compliance with industry standards such as IPC, EMI/EMC guidelines, and safety regulations. Conduct design reviews and implement necessary changes based on feedback. Troubleshoot and resolve layout-related issues in prototypes and production.Required Qualifications & Skills: Bachelors degree or Diploma in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Experience in PCB design and layout (2 years for junior roles, 5 years for senior roles). Proficiency in PCB design software such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or Mentor Graphics. Strong knowledge of high-speed PCB design, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC considerations. Experience with multilayer PCB stack-ups, impedance control, and differential pairs. Familiarity with PCB manufacturing and assembly processes.Preferred: Experience with RF PCB layout and mixed-signal designs. Knowledge of scripting for automation in PCB design tools. Understanding of 3D modeling and mechanical constraints.
