Waiter Job DescriptionA Waiter/Waitress is a professional whoprovides exceptional customer service in restaurants, bars, hotels, and other food-serving and drinking establishments. • Greet customers promptly and warmly
• Present menus and provide detailed information on menu items, ingredients, and potential food allergies
• Take accurate food and drinks orders using a POS ordering system or order slips
• Ensure orders are delivered promptly and accurately
Front-of-House Duties
• Manage tables, including setting and clearing tables, and ensuring cleanliness and presentation
• Handle cash and credit transactions, and operate a point-of-sale system
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders
Additional Responsibilities
• Check customers IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consuming alcoholic beverages
• Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation, and report any problems
• Carry dirty plates, glasses, and silverware to the kitchen for cleaning
• Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes on the menu, and service specifications for reservations (e.g., parties)
