We support UN-Habitat with knowledge and expertise to improve the quality of life in rapidly growing cities around the world.We are now recruiting talented individuals to fill our current vacancy for Assistant Consultant Environment (US Projects) to work on our projects in Bangalore.To be considered for a role we are seeking candidates with the following credentials:, Qualification & Experience: Masters or Bachelors degree in Chemistry 2 to 5 Years of analytical laboratory experinece on GC-MS, ICP-AES and HPLC in a lab of repute is a must.Principal Duties & Key Responsibilities; Verification of Chain of Custody, Methods and Lab sample receipt. Analytical data validation, review and data quality report writing. Validation of the lab result (electronic data deliverable) to the appropriate level (level II, III) as per the site requirements in conformance to USEPA / State guidelines / Validation requirements. Develop data quality evaluation reports and supporting documents for regulatory submittal. Analytical chemistry support for site investigations related to hazardous waste site remediation. Periodic verification of automated validation settings in environmental portal database. Provide need based analytical data to the requestor from appropriate sources like environmental portal database. Coordination with junior and/or senior chemist on a daily basis.Fulfilling duties within the Arcadis business management system including the completion of mandatory training, timesheets and other submissions as required.Required Competencies;Essential Knowledge: Analytical instruments and their applications. Sampling methods and procedures. Understanding of laboratory analysis workflow and quality control variables. Understanding of standard international methods to analyze for VOCs, SVOCs and metals.Desirable: Understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS) used for handling the data collected from the above mentioned instruments, e.g reporting limits, qualifiers, method detection limits, laboratory QC etc. Contracat laboratory program (CLP) guidelines for organic and inorganic analysis. Environmental remediation lifecycle.Essential Skills: Hands on experience in analytical instruments GC, GC-MS and ICP-AES. Ability to interpret instrument output like sample preparation log, run log and chromatogram etc. Ability to correlate various sets of environmental data and draw intelligent interferences. Highly proficient in all Microsoft programs including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat. Client relationship management skills Able to work independently and demonstrate initiative Flexibility in working hours Excellent business English both written and oral Professional and proactive approach Team playerDesirable Working experience in lab QC department. Working experience on LIMS (laboratory information management system) Hands on experience in querying data from database using SQL queries.
