Job Description

        Our growing company is hiring for a mechanical design engineer. Please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications. While this is our ideal list, we will consider candidates that do not necessarily have all of the qualifications Responsibilities for mechanical design engineer
        • Assume the technical liaison role with various outside suppliers
        • Prepare material/purchase requisitions for various equipment
        • Create Pipe line list, select and create manual valve list, specialty items list, Tie-point list
        • Support Johnson Space Centers activities on the International Space Station and space exploration
        • Produce engineering drawings conforming to JPR 8500 and other applicable standards
        • Perform dimensional fit analysis including thermal effects
        • Perform functional analyses, when applicable, and sizing structural analyses
        • Develop, refine, and validate deployable systems, subsystems, and components utilizing broad analytical skills, such as hand calculations and finite element analyses, or other modeling tools as needed
        • Verification of specifications and development results their documentation
        • Cost saving and improvements reviews of mechanical projects for customers
        Qualifications for mechanical design engineer
        • Good mastery and ability to design sample handling and fluid transport systems (flow systems)
        • Should have expertise in relevant engineering standards like ANSI for mechanical & electrical design
        • Exposure to testing (structural, LRU, coupon, ), monitor progress of the test, and result interpretation & troubleshooting for unforeseen test results
        • Awareness of AS9100 or ISO9001 quality management system
