Job Description

Responsibilities: As Steady State (SS) Architect, you will understand the deployed technical solution. You will ensure the overall CMDB service is functioning as designed. You will maintain documents pertaining to the solution, updates the logical structure of Configuration Management solution and the architecture and designs to address client business problems that may arise during steady state.

  • Maintain all architectural documentation of the scope and level of the CMDB solution, by identifying the types of Configuration Item Classes to be tracked, as well as the attributes to be stored for each
  • Develop functional specifications for new requirements via RFSs related to CMDB scoped work
  • Lead changes to the CMDB data model, based on approved requests from Account Team and/or customer
  • Lead discussions about major CMDB related process or tooling changes based on review and analysis of business requirements.
  • Review and approve requests to extend Data Model, in addition to the structure of the Configuration Management Database itself.
  • Update Data Model based on approved request
  • Review and Approve Changes to CMDB interlock with Incident, Change, Problem and Request Management
  • Provide support for complex problems related to the CMDB solution that are raised by the operation teams
  • Conduct tools workshops to demonstrate the functions, features, and capabilities of Tool solution and collect client specific requirements
  • Produce Account Architecture documents. Develop functional specifications for new requirements
  • Validate requirements were implemented to meet client expectations
  • Provide solution proposal and effort estimates for custom solution/requirements
  • Identify risks and issues associated with the CMDB/Discovery infrastructure deployment. Develop and lead execution of the technical risk management plan for the solution to be implemented
  • Minimum 10+ years experience in IT and 6+ years CMDB area
  • Solid experience in ITIL Framework (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)
  • Expertise in ITIL Configuration Management, ITIL Asset Management process and ITIL Change Management
  • Proficient in configuration Item Build & Decommission Global Process
  • Experience in programming languages Java (Script) (for ServiceMapping) along with knowledge of Rest API (for Integrations)
  • Experience in Structured Query Language (SQL) (for Integrations)
  • Working knowledge of unix shell scripting and PowerShell scripting (for ServiceMapping)
  • In-depth experience in MS Excel functions (create formulas and pivot tables) (for analysis/transform)
  • Ability to map data to CMDB solutions. Manipulate large quantities of data using tools such as Excel, Talend
  • Train configuration managers and configuration librarians on the CMDB solutions that have been implemented
  • Knowledge of ITIC (IBM Tivoli Integration Composer), TADDM (Tivoli Application Discovery and Dependency Manager) and SmartCloud Control Desk/IBM Control Desk
  • Exposure to ISM (IBM Service Management)
