Job Description

What you ll be doing

You will be playing a key role in designing and building a large-scale distributed integration environment. This position is ideal for someone that is always looking for a better way to do things. Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with team members (local and remote) to drive clarity on what to build and how best to build it
  • Actively participating in scrum ceremonies (stand-up, planning, refinement, retrospective, review)
  • Cranking out excellent solutions (in Java) to really interesting problems
  • Partaking in code reviews
  • Contributing ideas aimed at making us better at what we do and how we do it
  • Pairing with senior team members on more complex tasks
  • Ultimately, this job is about building software which helps to detect and prevent online fraud, and who wouldn t want to be a part of that!

What your background looks like

  • At least two years of relevant software development experience
  • A degree in computer science or a similar field, or additional relevant work experience
  • Exceptional programming skills in Java
  • Comfortable with open source ecosystem
  • Proficient with web services development using REST/JSON interfaces
  • Comfortable with agile software development methodologies: Scrum, unit testing, code reviews, etc.

What would be nice for you to have, in addition to the above

  • Working knowledge of relational databases
  • Experience developing Dropwizard or Spring Boot services
  • Familiarity with Maven/Gradle build automation
  • Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift
  • Familiarity with Kafka/Cassandra
  • Experience working with Cloud environments and technologies (AWS preferred)
  • Experience working with remote teams
