Job Description

Its innovative culture is driven by the passion of its 4240- strong team of scientists who work with clients from around the world to solve their scientific problems, improve R&D productivity, speed up time to market and lower the cost of innovation.Job PurposeThe incumbent will be responsible to lead a Protein Purification team and is expected to have a broad spectrum of technical working knowledge of Protein Purification and Characterization.Key Responsibilities:

  • The candidate will be leading a team of Ph.D and M.Sc level scientists with Team Leads / Senior Scientists and will report to the Section Head.
  • The candidate will be required to handle technical, operational and managerial workflows and seamlessly move between these.
  • The candidate is expected to foster innovation and improve customer outcomes through development and validation of Protein expression and purification workflows.
  • The candidate is expected to demonstrate experience and maturity handling high-performing teams in a matrix environment. Contribute to the team s development Scientifically and Professionally.
  • Follow environment, health, and safety (EHS) requirements at all times in the workplace ensuring individual and lab/plant safety.
  • Attend training on environment, health, and safety (EHS) measures imparted company
Educational Qualification:
  • Ph.D in Biology, Biotechnology or any life science field .
Technical/functional Skills:
  • Proven ability in Protein purification, biophysical characterization from CHO, HEK and E. Coli cells
  • Strong working knowledge of protein expression systems such as Mammalian and insect cells preferred.
  • Utilize High through put protein production to support a broad portfolio of projects
  • Accountability for defining function and strategic project plans and coordinate closely with Section Head
  • Expertise with protein purification, chromatography techniques (AKTA chromatography system, etc.,).
  • Proficiency / working knowledge of methods to characterize protein such as mass spectrometry, SPR, ITC, Thermal shift assays and endotoxin assays.
  • Should have worked with different proteins; molecular biology and biochemical techniques.
Experience:
  • 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
Behavioral Skills:
  • Good work ethics.
  • Good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to work with coworkers professionally.
  • General ability to thrive in a growing infrastructure and culture and think out of box approach when troubleshooting and problem solving.
