It will be the first time the country hosts an event from the world football governing body. This is the third most important event of the FIFA calendar, with 24 countries playing 52 games in 6 venues across India. The FIFA Under 17 World Cup has been a key stepping stone in the careers of a large part of world football stars, among them 16 senior FIFA World Champions and will be the most important event ever to be hosted in Indian football history. The tournament has a huge worldwide reach, with an estimated global audience from almost 200 different countries, which is a golden opportunity to show India throughout the world, its cities, culture and the capability of organizing an event of the highest standards. The FIFA Under 17 World Cup will have a lasting influence in Indian Football, upgrading the infrastructure, setting up proper game operations standards and improving the overall quality of the game. Undoubtedly, the FIFA Under 17 World Cup India 2017 is primed to be a game changer for Indian Football. The primary Referee Liaison Officer (RLO) duty is to act as the point of contact for the FIFA Referee Manager linking FIFA, the LOC and the referee delegation by ensuring the referees have a seamless experience and that the logistics to support the daily travel schedules are expertly managed. The RLO will be required to be based at the Referee HQ in Kolkata for the duration of the competition. This position must have a thorough understanding of what a referee delegation needs and how movements and transport are coordinated. The RLO coordinates the logistics for the referee delegation and will serve as a facilitator link in all the referee activities. Main Responsibilities: Liaison with the FIFA Referee Manager regarding all referee related issues; Work with the various departments of the LOC to deliver top class services for the Referee delegation; Coordination of logistics of all transport of referees to/ from airports, hotels and tournament venues with Referee Manager; Information management between FIFA, LOC Team Services, the venues and the FIFA Referee Manager; The RLO shall be cognizant of the varied cultures, customs and traditions of international referees; The RLO must be service- oriented but also understand his/ her role in relation to the other LOC departments and to the competition itself. This includes operating with a proactive and solutions focused approach; RLO shall stay in the same Hotel as the FIFA Refereeing Delegation (Referee HQ in Kolkata) and be available to the FIFA Coordinator and FIFA Administrator 24 hours a day (full time commitment with FIFA Refereeing during the event); Manage any equipment inventory on behalf of the referees as directed by the LOC. Assist in logistic matters (meetings, rooms, equipment etc). Assist Head of Competitions for any other matters involving the Referee delegation. Will be agreed by the Tournament and Projects Directors and the Head of Competitions once this hiring process ends and there is a definite plan for this area. Will be communicated in due time in accordance with the goals established between FIFA and the LOC for the World Cup. The indicators will be calculated on the basis of the completion of all matters related with Team Services, FIFAs satisfaction with the Team Services and requirements met on a timely manner. Candidate Profile: Five (5) Years of Minimum experience in either the Football industry. No applications will be considered if this requirement is not met; Experience in dealing with referees delegations and their different transport, food, accommodation and ancillary requests; The RLO should have knowledge of refereeing in India; Demonstrated stakeholder relationship management and prior experience working with sporting delegations; Ability to multitask, strong time management and organizational skills; Ability to solve problems, negotiations and conflict resolutions; High Level knowledge of Microsoft Office Platform, particularly Excel, Word and Powerpoint; Expert written and spoken knowledge of English and Bengali, with a secondary official language (German, French, and Spanish) of FIFA a bonus; Proven leadership skills and respectful attitude towards subordinates in high- pressure moments; Proven ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality at all times. The RLO shall respect the social media guidelines provided by the LOC / FIFA. An interest in football or an understanding of the needs of sporting officials. Service to the sport of football will also be taken into consideration.,
