Software Engineer, StructuralAre you a recent graduate or final year student in Structural / Civil Engineering at a top institute Have you been working in the Civil/Structural engineering domain or looking for your first step into the world of engineering software Do you enjoy creating algorithms and developing software Would you like to put all your advanced learning to use as a part of a software development team that is synonymous with advanced analysis and design in the structural engineering world If you answered yes to the questions above, we would love to hear from you!Bentleys STAAD.Pro software development team in Kolkata is looking to expand and is offering 2 new positions for Software Engineer, Structural. The team is responsible for maintaining and updating the software with the latest analysis and design features that has helped STAAD.Pro become one of the most versatile tools for Structural Engineers around the world. As part of the team, you will contribute to further enhancing the core of the product following agile software development principles.Your day-to-day job:

  • Design, develop and maintain STAAD s analysis & design modules, based on C++/C# and FORTRAN
  • Develop software algorithms following Object Oriented software design principles and primarily using C++/C#
  • Prepare design specifications, calculations and detailed documentation as part of the development process
  • Collaborate with other team members to accomplish the development objectives
  • Explore, learn and implement new techniques and technologies to further develop the software and of course, yourself!
What you bring to the team:
  • A high-flying Bachelors or Masters degree in Structural / Civil Engineering or related field from a top institute
  • A strong mathematical background and a thorough understanding of Structural / Civil Engineering principles
  • Aptitude for software development backed with a thorough understanding of data structures and algorithms
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
Desirable, but not essential:
  • Hands-on experience in OO software design and development using one of: C++ / C# / Python
  • Familiarity with contemporary CI/CD workflows and toolsets
