Job Description

a distribution manageroversees the efficient, safe, and timely movement of products from point of origin to final destination, managing inventory, coordinating staff, optimizing routes, and ensuring compliance with regulations.Key responsibilities include planning logistics, analyzing data for improvements, managing departmental budgets, collaborating with stakeholders, and resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.Key Responsibilities
• Operations Management:Oversee day-to-day distribution and logistics operations, including warehousing, transportation, and inventory control.
• Team Leadership:Manage, motivate, and train the distribution staff, assigning tasks and providing feedback for performance improvement.
• Inventory & Stock Control:Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock and avoid stockouts or excess holdings.
• Logistics Planning:Plan and coordinate delivery schedules, optimize delivery routes, and manage transportation costs.
• Supplier & Vendor Management:Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to secure favorable rates and services.
• Process Improvement:Analyze operational data and identify areas for improvement, developing and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and performance.
• Budget Management:Develop and manage the distribution departments budget, ensuring expenses stay within the allocated funds.
• Compliance & Safety:Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and health and safety procedures.
• Customer Relations:Collaborate with customer service and sales teams to meet customer needs and resolve delivery-related issues.
• Reporting:Prepare and analyze reports to track key performance indicators and present findings to senior management.
