Job Description

    JOB SUMMARY:Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and removing outdated drugs.Dispense and counsel patients on proper medication use and ensure proper management of drug commodities.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:To dispense and compound prescribed medicines to patientsTo identify prescriptions that might present risks to patients and to resolve relevant issues before dispensing.To ensure that medicines are dispensed in a legal, efficient and accurate wayTo counsel patients on the use of their medicines at the point of dispensingParticipate in departmental meetings and other committees as may be delegatedPrepare monthly, quarterly pharmacy reportEnsure proper receipt, storage and issuance of pharmaceuticals and maintain appropriate documentation for accountabilityMonitor storage conditions and update the expiry track system.Ensure security of pharmaceutical commoditiesComply with all quality measures and standards that have been put in placeEnsure proper handing over procedures of commodities and keys are observedFill, report and submit pharmacovigilance forms as they occurComply with occupational health and safety policies and procedures at the workplace.Undertake requisite professional development activities
