Job Description

    OverviewThe Primary & Lower Secondary Mathematics and Science Teacher plays a critical role in shaping the educational journey of young learners following the Cambridge Curriculum. This position is fundamental in providing a robust foundation in mathematics and science, fostering a love for these subjects, and developing critical thinking skills among students. The teacher is responsible for creating a dynamic curriculum that not only covers academic content but also incorporates inquiry-based learning, ensuring that students are engaged and motivated. By utilizing a range of teaching methodologies and assessment tools, the teacher can effectively accommodate diverse learning styles and needs. Collaboration with other educators and staff is essential to enhance the overall learning environment and to contribute to the school community. Ultimately, the teachers efforts contribute significantly to students academic achievement and holistic development.Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate mathematics and science curriculum aligned with the Cambridge Curriculum. Create lesson plans that incorporate diverse teaching strategies to cater to different learning needs. Facilitate engaging classroom activities that promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Assess and monitor student progress through regular evaluations and feedback mechanisms. Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration. Utilize technology and digital resources to enhance instruction and engage students. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding academic progress and classroom activities. Attend and contribute to professional development workshops and training sessions. Collaborate with fellow teachers to integrate mathematics and science across the curriculum. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in teaching methodologies and curriculum developments. Implement classroom management techniques that foster a respectful and inclusive learning environment. Provide additional support to students requiring extra help, including tutoring or specialized instruction. Encourage student curiosity and exploration through hands-on experiments and field trips. Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the development of a cohesive school community. Report and maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic achievements.Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, or a related field. Teaching certification or license relevant to primary and lower secondary education. Experience teaching mathematics and science following the Cambridge Curriculum. Strong understanding of educational psychology and child development principles. Proven track record of effective classroom management techniques. Awareness of technological tools and resources applicable to education. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. Commitment to continuous professional growth and development. Experience with differentiated instruction and inclusive practices. Understanding of assessment principles and data analysis. Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom for all students. Willingness to contribute to extracurricular and community-oriented programs.
