Position: Principal Scientist - Plant NutritionExperience: Minimum 10 years experience in Research & Development function for Crop Nutrition and biologicalsEducation: PhD (preferred) or M.Sc. in Agronomy/Soil Science/Chemistry/Horticulture (Desirable specialization: Formulation, Chemistry, Material Science, Plant Life Science)Job Responsibilities:
• Develop projects in crop nutrition solutions (Macro/Secondary/Micro Nutrients, Growth regulators)
• Optimize formulations and enhance quality of existing technological solutions
• Evaluate technologies as per regulatory norms in labs and in field trials in various crops
• Training Associates (Lab, Plant, Field) to ensure end-to-end quality of the product
• Infrastructure up-gradation to develop long-term competitive edge (instrumentation, prototyping m/c etc)
• Develop and grow institutional relationships in India and abroad to access new technologies.
• Development of R&D budget, tracking and monitoring progress against the goals.
• Collaborate and Liaison with external agencies for data generation and licensing as per approved norms
Desired Candidate Profile:
• The candidate should possess good understanding of Crop physiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, plant molecular biology and agronomy of plants
• Working knowledge of Analytical Chemistry or Biochemistry for evaluating products via HPLC, GC, AAS, and Spectrophotometer etc.
• Proven track of developing effective product for plant nutrition in the Macro/Secondary/Micro/Growth regulator space
• Knowledge of product regulatory framework is essential (FCO: Fertilizer control order, CIB regulations)
• Direct hands-on driving experience of research program management from ideation to product launch
• Ability to create accountability and lead by example as well as proven managerial experience and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
• Willingness to travel is a must
