Role DescriptionAs a Senior Software Test Engineer, the candidate will be an individual contributor in Automation and Manual QA, supporting team members and doing hands-on in writing the automation test cases using Python. Will contribute to maintenance release testing.Role and Responsibilities

• Develop and document test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on maintenance release requirements.
• Define the testing scope, objectives, and approach for each maintenance release.
• Review and analyze maintenance release requirements and specifications.
• Identify and document test requirements, focusing on bug fixes, patches, and minor enhancements.
• Execute test cases and scripts for maintenance releases.
• Perform different types of testing, including regression testing, smoke testing, functional testing, and non-functional testing.
• Identify, log, and track defects found during testing.
• Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to prioritize and resolve defects.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts for repetitive and regression testing.
• Integrate automated tests into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.
• Set up and maintain test environments to mimic production as closely as possible.
• Ensure test environments are properly configured and maintained.
• Document test results, including detailed defect reports, and create test summary reports.
• Maintain up-to-date test documentation and ensure it aligns with changes in the software.
• Work closely with development teams, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of maintenance requirements and testing needs.
• Participate in review meetings and provide feedback on the readiness of maintenance releases.
• Analyze test results to identify patterns and areas for improvement.

Technical Skills

• Experience testing network hardware devices and/or software.
• Knowledge of e, VLAN, STP/RSTP, ARP, IP, SNMP.
• Knowledge of Industrial Protocols- EtherNet/IP, Profinet.
• Hands-on experience with Tools: IXIA, Spirent, TCP_Replay/hping, Bugzilla, JIRA.
• Technology: RJ45, Fiber, Connectors.
• Experience in API testing.
• Experience with Test case management tool.
• Experience creating test strategy, test plan, and test cases leveraging software feature and design specification documents.
• Experience testing in an Agile software development model.
• Knowledge of system dependencies and inter-device communications.

Manual Test Experience:

• UI (web-based front end), command line and SNMP interface test case execution.

Automation:

• Python, CI/CD, Bitbucket, Git.
• Script creation and execution.

Debugging:

• Automation failure log analysis.
• Root cause analysis, experience debugging test setup, customer issues, customer topologies and script failures.

Defect reporting and maintenance:

• Filing bugs using the Bug Management tools.
• Bug reproduction.
• Collaborating with development teams and driving open issues to close.

Nice-to-have skillsQualifications

• B.E./B.Tech. from top-tier universitiesMasters/MB in IT or related fields.
• Around 5 years of IT Experience in QA Functional and Automation.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in an agile team environment.
